Outstanding Project/Program

The Outstanding Project category is one of the main categories in the Sustainable Education Award, and aims to recognize quality projects that contribute to achieving a tangible and sustainable impact in the field of education. This category focuses on projects that are characterized by an integrated and comprehensive approach that ensures equity and inclusiveness, employs technology and innovation, while strengthening cooperation and partnerships to achieve the desired goals. This category is awarded to projects that promote educational innovation, provide equal educational opportunities, and demonstrate the ability to make a positive change in the quality of education in accordance with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG4). Outstanding projects are expected to offer solutions that are more applicable and replicable in different educational contexts.

  • Nomination applications are accepted from all governmental, private and non-profit institutions and entities, provided that the scope of application of the work is in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Yemen.
  • Nominations are not accepted from educational bodies such as the Ministries of Education, Ministries of Higher Education, and affiliated institutions and under their supervision such as public and private schools and universities.
  • The submitted work must be unique and have not received any previous awards.
  • Only one nomination is accepted in one category, more than one work is not allowed.
  • It is not permissible for more than one entity to participate in the submitted work, as the submission is in the name of one entity only.
  • The work submitted must be developed and implemented by the candidates themselves, and the work should not be assigned by other parties, so work from consulting companies developing the projects of the beneficiaries is not accepted.
  • The funded work is accepted, provided that the approval of the funding entity to participate in the award is attached.
  • The duration of the submitted work (program/project) should be at least three years to reflect its long-term impact and show tangible results and positive trends.
  • Works in Arabic or English are accepted.
  • The nomination application must be submitted within the specified period on the Award's website.
  • The candidacy application must be submitted through the website in the name of the head of the work team.
  • The General Secretariat of the Award has the right to verify the accuracy of the data directly from the candidate by requesting additional evidence if it is not attached, and has the right to reject applications in the event of non-conformity of the conditions at any stage of the evaluation.

  • The key partners in the project and the mechanism for selecting them.
  • The foundations of cooperation with partners in achieving the project's objectives.
  • The mechanisms used to ensure effective communication and coordination between partners.

  • Measuring the impact of the project on beneficiaries and the community.
  • Strategies followed to ensure the sustainability of the project's results in the long term.
  • The extent to which the project contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 4 (Quality Education).
